A member of the senior management team at Emirates Foundation, I lead the research and development of strategies to build the skills and enthusiasm of our youth to take up future leadership positions. We are recognised as pioneers to ensure philanthropic capital creates sustainable socio-economic value. Board member AmCham (American Chamber) Abu Dhabi Recent successes include: • Restructuring Dar Zayed for family care. Changed from an institution looking after 400 parentless children to family-based structure integrated in UAE communities. Improved children’s academic performance, social lives, self confidence and continuation to higher education and employability • Established Kafaat program (previously Tawteen), successfully training hundreds of youth in leadership, linking them to private sector opportunities • Championed integration of sustainability into Emirates Foundation strategy, launched annual sustainability report for stakeholders I coach and mentor team members, young female leaders and youth on our programmes and received the Youth Mentorship Award from HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed. Named in ‘Top 20 Most Influential Women in UAE’, I regularly speak and moderate at leading events. I am keen to help other women reach leadership and influential positions and see gender balanced executive teams and boards. My own board positions have included: Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, spearheading the government’s efforts for a sustainable Emirati workforce and member of Abu Dhabi government social sector advisory committee. At Emirates Foundation we see ‘sustainability’ as the long term viability and success of our country and work with leading private sector organisations to share expertise and innovate for the future including Shell, BP, Oxy, Citi Foundation, Citibank and Coutts.
