I have professional experience of 25 years in the fields of carbon market development and implementation, climate actions, sustainability, energy security, energy efficiency and renewable energy with advisory, policy, government and international regulatory organisations. I have hands-on experience in energy audits and energy benchmarking in industries and buildings, consulting experience in climate change, carbon footprints and CDM advisory, energy policy, energy accounting, monitoring & evaluation, and feasibility and finance of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. I have set up the energy management and sustainable energy solutions team of multinational advisory firm. I have helped my corporate and public sector clients, several oil & gas industries, to receive carbon finance for their GHG mitigation projects based on robust emission reduction purchase agreements (ERPAs). I have developed feasibility studies, and techno-economic studies for the government entities of specific industrial sectors to receive line of credits from multilateral financial institutions. I have worked as Team Leader for the standard setting unit of Sustainable Development Mechanisms (SDM) of UNFCCC. I have led the CDM Methodologies team of SDM and particularly managed the work of development and implementation of Standardised Baselines Regulatory Framework of CDM Executive Board. The Framework can serve as a key MRV and policy tool to scale up global climate actions post Paris Agreement. Presently, at Gulf Organization for Research and Development (GORD), I have led the development and implementation of MENA region’s first and only voluntary carbon offsetting program, Global Carbon Council (formerly known as Global Carbon Trust). I was also involved in development of green building certification scheme of GORD, Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS). I am the member of Methodologies Panel of Clean Development Mechanism of UNFCCC since May 2017.
