Kris Beuret OBE FCILT FCIHT TPP is the Director of Social Research Associates and a social scientist with a particular interest in transport and urban policy. This interest has let to a vast body of research on the influence of transport on life styles and opportunities. Kris and her staff (www.sraltd.co.uk) have also pioneered innovative methods of public and stakeholder engagement with a view to encouraging civic decision making rather than in terms of individual self interest. In a personal capacity Kris is involved with a range of external organisations including the National Association of Taxi Users (Chair), the Passenger Transport Academy (Board Member), the Campaign for Better Transport (policy advisor) and the Independent Transport Commission (Commissioner). Previously an academic at various American and British Universities, Kris continues as a visiting lecturer including at UCL, ITS Leeds and Aalto University, Finland. Before that Kris worked as a researcher for the American Senate, the House of Commons and the International Finance Corporation.
