Over my career, I've worked in education, technology, and storytelling. My favorite type of learning occurs when I can dot connect: apply a framework from one field to untangle a challenge in another field. ------------------- Product and Engineering • Currently leading engineering for the core product responsible for 80% of revenue at a $4.6B valuation startup. • Built the entire scope, sequence, and content for a full stack bootcamp from scratch. • Developed product and engineering curriculum for adult training programs in Tokyo, Barcelona, Italy, Malaysia, and the United States. Education & Culture Shift Strategy • Served on advisory boards for orgs that include Google (global education strategy), the International Society for Technology in Education, CodeOp, and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. • Keynote speaker for audiences up to 3K, and guest speaker in China, Russia, Japan, Spain, and venues that included YouTube HQ and EdCrunch Moscow. • Received two international awards for work as a high school English teacher and work as an administrator leading culture shift strategy for districts going through digital transformations. • Developed a digital transformation and culture shift blueprint now used in 400+ schools across the U.S. while part of an education research organization. Management and Business Development • 10+ years experience managing teams – including remote workers across six time zones. • Co-founded a profitable creative technology company serving high-profile foundations and clients across three continents. • Designed, launched, and scaled new programs from $8M up to $40M in funding at a Congressionally-authorized education research NGO (both programs are now core pillars of the organization). Art & Design • Co-producer and second unit DP on over a dozen short documentaries and videos. Shooting locations ranged from a national park (artist residency with the U.S. National Park Service) to a world-renowned taiko artist community in Sado Island, Japan. Work selected for Slamdance Film Festival (2022) and Mammoth Lakes Film Festival (2022). • Professionally trained as an actor, with former certification as an actor-combatant by the Society of American Fight Directors • Two years experience as a technical director for a community and regional arts center, leading theatre equipment maintenance and managing lights/sound/set design. • Woodworking hobbyist - recent projects have included a phone booth converted into a vanity, a newspaper vending machine converted into a mobile bar, and a wooden kayak.
