Founder, CEO, board member, global team builder, leader and (sometimes) visionary driving a culture of innovation through three guiding principles: Exceptionalism: “If you want to break into a market, you must provide a truly exceptional product that is 100x better or enables something just not possible before.” Respect: “We are fortunate to voluntarily interact with others. Showing respect for our colleagues, customers and vendors is paramount, whether it is being on time for a meeting or recognizing the strengths and accomplishments of others.” Gratitude: “We all have gotten where we are through the help of others. Building a new type of processor for deep learning required many groups of people working together toward a common goal. It’s a team sport. We go out of our way each day to thank those who have helped us along the way.” Using these principles, I have led teams to introduce a host of “first of type” product areas, from semiconductors to systems that were successful in a wide range of industries, including mobile, enterprise core, networking, mobility, broadcast video, as well as consumer products sold at the Apple store. Away from the office, I am dedicated to serving others, including mentoring youth through volunteer work at local schools, and as a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America.
