From the most basic of electric circuits to developing software for military aircraft and other areas of the Department of Defense, I’ve grown up with the concepts of Engineering. I began my path to a technical career in high school when I focused on taking as many STEM classes as I possibly could. I completed a program called the Post Secondary Enrollment Option, a Minnesota state program which allowed me to take courses at Concordia University St. Paul full time for 11th and 12th grade instead of at my local high school. This hard work paid off when I was accepted into the Milwaukee School of Engineering for their Computer Engineering program. With all the credits earned during high school I was able to graduate with my Bachelor of Science degree in three years. Today, I put these skills to use in order to develop software analytic tools using modern application frameworks. I develop React frontends, Spring Boot and Ratpack backends, and use a variety of datastores from Elasticsearch to Cassandra to Postgres. My passion lies in putting the puzzle together, from volts and bits to lines of code. I enjoy solving complex problems and architecting solutions to difficult problems. I began my software career with Java back in 2008 and still enjoy using it today. Current Tech Focuses: React UI, Kubernetes container orchestration, Docker/container based development, Spring Boot and Ratpack web service layers, Elasticsearch and Cassandra data stores
