I am an adamant believer in technology's ability to improve people's lives. As an Intel Fellow and Director of Intelligent Systems Research Lab at Intel, my mission is to help drive innovations that amplify human potential. I have spent nearly two decades researching and developing human-AI collaboration, context-aware computing, multi-modal adaptive interfaces, sensor networks, computer architecture, embedded systems, and wireless technologies. By starting with the questions, what are people's unmet needs, and what do we need to invent to satisfy these needs? I explore how these technologies can enhance equity and inclusion in today's digital world. At Intel Labs, my team primarily focuses on creating technologies that can assist people in their everyday lives. I believe that by harnessing the complementary nature of human intelligence and artificial intelligence, we can make AI systems more accurate, resilient, accessible, responsible, sustainable and scalable. These systems need to be contextually aware, understand people and their environments, interact with them naturally and personalize to their needs. This type of innovation is what inspires me to drive meaningful technological advancements that will ultimately unlock opportunities for billions of people around the globe.
