I'm a web developer, in the sense that I build websites, and also in the sense that I develop the web: my passion is making the web itself bigger, better, more powerful, and I believe the best way to do that is to get more people building web sites and web apps. I started a web development company in high school, and have spent the last twenty-three years in tech. The first 15 years of my career were mostly as an individual contributor, building sites at every level from front-end through the application stack and down to the level of DBA and systems administration. Then I spent 10 years running two startups I co-founded, as CTO, COO, and CDO or Chief Data Officer. Now I'm at Netlify, using my combination of technical and business skills to extract meaningful insight from mountains of data by figuring out which questions to ask.
