I have over 20 years’ commercial and business improvement experience in the energy sector and offer a broad range of advisory, commercial, business planning and communication skills. I started out in the in the electricity industry and my early career covered asset management, energy trading and sector analysis and communication. I moved across to the global upstream oil and gas sector and spent over 10 years in an advisory capacity working on transactions, strategic reviews and dispute resolutions. Project highlights included developing the commercial framework for one of the UK’s Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) demonstrator projects; working with Maersk Oil & Gas on significant strategic portfolio transactions; and being part of the commercial team assessing the opportunity for commercialising flare gas in Nigeria. With business development responsibilities, I also had a focus on the energy transition challenge faced by E&P companies and how this should be incorporated in to strategic planning (in accordance with TCFD recommendations). Applying my commercial and energy heritage, I'm now part of the Business Development & Strategy team at SSE Energy Solutions - supporting the energy transition and helping our customers achieve their Net Zero Goals. Areas of expertise include project management of multi-disciplined teams; mapping out complex commercial frameworks and business delivery processes to support due diligence, negotiations, improvement initiatives and governance; data analysis to inform project recommendations and decision making; business reporting including development of dashboards & trackers. And when not busy working, I manage to combine my passion for all things sea related with my volunteering experience; I sit on the Committee at my local, volunteer-led, RYA Sailing Club and produce and edit the weekly newsletter keeping 500 members in touch with what's happening both on and off the water in the Solent.
