Graphistry: We're 100X'ing investigations with graph visualization & graph AI, infused end-to-end with GPUs & automation. Graphistry enables analysts to leverage top emerging data technologies for tackling supply chain, security, fraud, and other critical operational analytics questions: * End-to-end GPU computing: Apache Arrow & RAPIDS.ai were both voted top data projects of 2019 * Graph AI (GNNs) which are Science's Breakthrough of the Year for 2021 * Graph visual analytics: Gartner measured graph as a Top 5 growing data technology for the next 3 years * Point-and-click workflow automation: Process automation is the fastest growing enterprise industry sector in history I love designing compute systems for tough problems. I used to do that by researching programming language design. Browsers & web frameworks adopted our ideas: ** Ph.D. @ UC Berkeley: First Parallel Browser & GPU-Accelerated Big Data Visualization (3 PLDI SRC awards + Tech Transfer) We showed how to hardware-accelerate the core of browsers for 10-100X speedups and power savings. Browsers have been picking this up in pieces and it led to Graphistry. ** Evenings @ UC Berkeley: The Sociology of Programming Languages (SIGPLAN best of year, OOPSLA best paper award, DARPA workshop) Some of the first connections to modern social theory & empirical studies. ** Sc.B. @ Brown University: Reactive Web Programming and Language-Based Security (SIGPLAN 10yr Most Influential Paper award, OOPSLA best paper award, tech transfer) We designed Margrave, a verifiable security policy language, which has been superseded by systems like Amazon Policy Analyzer. Likewise, Flapjax, a language to paper over the web's callback hell with a layer of functional & reactive abstractions has been superseded by React/GraphQL, Rx/Angular, and more (SIGPLAN 10yr Most Influential Paper award / OOPSLA Best Paper). ** I had a lot of fun creating smaller systems and extending browsers/platforms at Microsoft Research / Adobe's Advanced Technology Labs / Macromedia. In an earlier life, I played in commercial radio, consulting, and graphic design.
