I am a Developer Advocate and community organiser. I finished my apprenticeship in Software Engineering in early 2014, and worked as Jack of all software trades on the interface between development and support for Jimdo, a website builder company. In late 2016 I decided to move away from conventional software engineering and closer to machine learning techniques. I joined Datenfreunde GmbH a company involved in data journalism, working on a news recommendation engine. After a move to Amsterdam in 2018, I joined Container Solutions, a company focused on programmable infrastructure and cloud-native applications, as Cloud Native Engineer. There I was also spearheading our diversity and inclusion efforts. In 2020 I received a promotion to Engineering Manager, coaching and guiding our Consultants. In my spare time I have been taking courses and built projects on the subject of neural networks and machine learning. I have given talks on machine learning at conferences in Hamburg (JSUnconf 2016 & 2017, code.talks 2016), Singapore (JSConf Asia 2016), Paris (dotAI 2017), Barcelona (JSCamp 2018) and Vancouver (Node+JS Interactive 2018) I am one of the organisers of ServerlessDays Amsterdam, a community conference and meetup series about the serverless ecosystem. Currently, I am working as Developer Advocate for Loft Labs, trying to make multi-application development on Kubernetes easy and fun.
