I fell into sales right out of college and never looked back. I spent years in technology advertising before my first SaaS job, selling webinars to marketers, well before that was a thing. My experience made me the perfect evangelist, showing marketing execs how to best leverage webinars to drive more demand. Webinars quickly spawned virtual events, and I got to travel the world brainstorming with and selling to strategic clients like Oracle and Intel. Virtual events for me were the perfect mix of strategy and creativity, with measurable business impact. Some of my favorite clients were on the cutting-edge of building pipeline and making money with virtual events. It was niche, but growing. Then, Covid...and the whole world was forced to ''discover'' online events. After way too many bad virtual events and the inevitable rush back to in-person, the market seems to be finding some sanity.
