I am a GeoData Scientist at Deltares where I work on open-source software projects. These projects include: + Generating DTMs derived from large scale pointclouds in the Julia language using the latest research in order to calculate worldwide flood risks. + GEOLib, a Python library that wraps several of our numerical models + Writing Python based back-ends for generic web based interfaces to our numerical models running in Kubernetes workflows in the cloud, all provisioned with Ansible. I have a masters degree in Geomatics, obtained at the TU Delft in the 3dgeoinfo research group. My thesis dealt with storing massive TINs in a spatial database. In my free time I tinker with open data and open-source software, but I also read, climb, boulder, mountaineer and ride a motorbike.
