I'm a psychedelic neuroscientist with my feet both in academia and industry. My passionate interest in psychedelics has led me to develop extensive expertise on the neurobiology and psychology of these drugs and I apply this knowledge towards several ends. -- On the academic side: I’m in the latter stages of obtaining my PhD in Neuroscience at McGill University, working in The Montreal Neurological Institute. My research predominantly focuses on the so-called 'default-mode network' and on the brain mechanisms underlying psychedelic drugs as revealed by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). I have been lead or co-author on over a dozen peer-reviewed scientific publications and book chapters on topics including psychedelics, meditation, daydreaming, and the default-mode network. I collaborate closely with leading psychedelic researchers and will be joining Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris at UCSF as a postdoc in August 2023. https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=ubfgBP4AAAAJ -- On the industry side: I am Chief Research Officer at EntheoTech Bioscience, a Canadian psychedelic bioscience company that focuses on ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, natural psilocybin formulation development, and psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy clinical trials. I'm also passionate about science translation in the psychedelic space. Towards this end, I have been a guest on a variety of podcasts, have given lectures for a variety of organizations, and run a YouTube channel (The Psychedelic Scientist) that disseminates the latest developments in scientific research involving psychedelic drugs to a general audience. https://www.entheotech.ca https://www.youtube.com/c/thepsychedelicscientist https://www.instagram.com/thepsychedelicscientist/ https://twitter.com/mgirnneuro
