Marc Rouanne has more than 20 years of international management experience in the telco industry, with executive positions in R&D, customer operations, product management, in France, Finland, USA. He has managed industry leading businesses developing 2G-5G Radios, Core, Handsets, Submarine Cables, RF Ancillaries, Microwave Transport, IP. He is an entrepreneur and the founder of Dhatim, an AI software company. With strategic leadership in complex commercial and technical markets, Marc has transformed large businesses to achieve growth and profitability in competitive markets. He has vast experience in mergers, with Nokia, NSN, Alcatel-Lucent, Alcatel-Fujitsu JV, which he headed, and Nortel Matra Cellular. As COO of Nokia, and Chairman of the Board of ALU, he managed the successful completion of the Alcatel-Lucent merger in less than 18 months, delivering on synergy objectives. He is an advocate of openness and decomposition of the software in the Telcos, having pioneered Mobile Edge Cloud with NSN Liquid Net architecture. Under his leadership Nokia was the first and sometimes unique large Telco vendor to join TIP, X-RAN, O-RAN, as well as ATCA, OCP, OMA, ONAP. When he combined the roles of Chief Innovation and COO of Nokia, he steered Nokia innovation agenda and the Bell Labs. Under his leadership, the new Nokia exhibited best-in-class manufacturing and supply chain operations, industry-shaping procurement and a benchmark quality culture. As COO he steered Nokia continuous end-to-end transformation, and its profile as a trusted, security and safety-minded industry leader, In May 2017, he took over Nokia Mobile Business Group, immediately restructuring the unit into products and services in order to accelerate 4G and 5G roadmaps and increase customer satisfaction around services. He introduced collaboration and DevOps at scale inside Nokia mobile software teams which yielded in a drastic improvement of quality and 5G roadmaps, and resulted in flagship 5G deals in the USA, Japan, and Korea. In the last 6 months, he has divided his time between his passion for high tech sailing and new modern 5G architecture studies. He is currently engaged with Alex Thomson Racing, designing the autopilot for the latest Hugo Boss Imoca, and steering the Nokia Bell Labs engineering teams working on the Boat Edge Cloud and computer systems. Marc was born in France and is married with five children.
