I hold a Ph.D. in system security from Télécom ParisTech and a M.Sc. in computer engineering from the University of Bergamo. My interests concern all aspects of IT security, with particular emphasis on real problems that affect systems and networks. Some topics of interest are web and browser security, code analysis, malware detection, cybercrime, online privacy, and threats in the I/IoT space. I'm involved in the security domain since 2002 with international experiences in industry and academia. With previous engagements as security engineer and an established record of successful R&D projects, I am currently a technical research lead at Trend Micro. With over 50 talks in major cybersecurity events like RSA, Black Hat and Hack In The Box, I am considered a veteran speaker. I regularly engage with the research community and serve in the program committee of conferences and workshops. My work was in the proceedings of top peer reviewed venues like NDSS, RAID and ACSAC, and featured by distinguished media outlets such as BBC, CNN, Forbes, The Register, Slashdot, InfoWorld and DarkReading. Being a free software sympathizer, I am involved in open-source projects and underground hacking communities since many years. I loves rock climbing, alpinism, and traveling.
