Marcus is a unique blend of technology enthusiast, doer and leader. He was the Lead Product Manager for the camera experience of the award-winning 41-megapixel camera phone ''Lumia 1020”, and during his 6 years at Nokia (nowadays Microsoft Mobile Devices) he has built up a number of high-performing software teams. As a faculty member at Singularity University, Marcus is part of a unique worldwide network of future thinkers and leaders. Based at NASA Ames in Silicon Valley, Singularity University teaches how to apply exponential technologies - such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Space and Biotech - to address humanity’s greatest challenges. Marcus has an intuitive recognition of emerging technologies which stems from a thorough understanding of the whole stack between human and technology. A coder since 1997, he has experience in everything from embedded systems and hardware, software architecture and databases, web technologies and usability all the way to social and ethical aspects. Such vertical and broad knowledge is a prerequisite for his ability to paint and convey the future. Outside of work he is a techno DJ, and dreams about sailing to the edge of the world.
