Bio

I lead the largest nationally accredited mass communications program in the U.S., the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications. I am an experienced journalist, educator and administrator in journalism and mass communication education. I worked as a reporter, freelance writer, and editor. I have also advised student publications and designed online courses. My administrative experience is wide-ranging, including administration of undergraduate, graduate, and research-related programs. My own research has centered on ethics and diversity in sports journalism and portrayals of female athletes in the media. As an educator and scholar, I am committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in the journalism workplace and classroom.
