I have 22 years marketing, commercial, CX and insight strategy experience across passenger transport, visitor attraction and retail businesses. Working on world class brands I’ve developed strong strategic, commercial, creative, digital and insights skills gained in a career including FTSE 250 and global organisations from Go-Ahead Group to Merlin Entertainments. In recent years I’ve additionally focused on ESG strategies including climate change/adaptation community investment and social value. My experience covers reporting and communicating ESG strategy, vision and purpose. I’m a Media and English Literature post graduate with professional qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Institute of Directors. Some of my career highlights include launching Warwick Castle to the Chinese tourism market, being a founder member of ‘Shakespeare’s England’ destination management organisation, working on the opening of the world’s first LEGO themed hotel in Windsor, growing the rail market on the UK’s only domestic high speed rail line and leading The Billion Journey Project, the largest innovation programme in UK public transport. Recently I’ve delivered strategic commercial projects across Go-Ahead’s operating companies in UK, Nordics and in Singapore exploring the future of travel, active travel, climate change adaptation and MaaS. What keeps me motivated is innovation, creating new partnerships and unlocking the potential of team work. I’m lucky that my work also allows me to find time to hold a Non Exec Director position at Go To Places which maintains my experience in the visitor attraction, leisure and entertainments industry. I am also Chair of the Sustainability Forum for the Institute of Directors in South of England. In what’s left of my time I review literature for publishers and support arts events and festivals across the UK.
