Global energy industry leader, helping businesses and consumers to transition to a net zero carbon energy system. After a 39 year executive career with Shell, the last 4 of which were building a New Energies business, I have hands on experience of almost every lever we need to pull to deliver net zero carbon emissions by 2050. From biofuels to hydrogen, renewable electricity and storage, distributed energy, digital and nature based solutions, we need to accelerate investment and deployment in the coming decade. Since retiring from Shell I’ve founded a Low Carbon Advisory business and serve on the boards of several companies developing leading technologies to accelerate the energy transition and a more circular economy. I also advise several investment funds and invest in and mentor a number of early stage companies. In recent years I have also allocated more time to supporting wildlife conservation and chair the board of trustees of Rhino Revolution, a South African charity.
