Dr Mark Hon is a serial entrepreneur and accredited private investor with experience in bringing companies across 5 countries from ideation to IPO & strategic acquisitions. He is founder of Sugar venture capital in Singapore and past chairman of the oldest angel investment network in Asia. He also serves on investment committees of public and private sector funds that support entrepreneurship. Formerly a tenured professor of finance and faculty chairman based in Madrid, he was also visiting professor to universities in Oxford, United Kingdom and Deggendorf, Germany. In the private sector, he has formulated R&D commercialisation strategies for The Boeing Company, and consumer electronics procurement road maps and mobile application strategies for France Telecom. ​He has served in the c-suite at a publicly traded company, and economic index expert to a Swiss bank. Mark founded a charity fund for the terminally ill and served on boards of voluntary welfare organisations and government such as Singapore Red Cross, Sport Singapore, Singapore Disability Sports Council, Singapore National Paralympic Council, Cotton On Foundation Youth Fund, and the Foundation of Rotary Clubs. He was featured in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, and interviewed on investing and entrepreneurship by media outlets such as The Business Times, Straits Times, 93.8 Live Radio, Southeast Television China (SETV), Television Broadcasts Limited Hong Kong (TVB), Nikkei CNBC (Japan), Korea Broadcast System (KBS) and the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
