Bio

I help people take courageous leaps forward in their business and professional lives through science and the power of play as a keynote speaker, bravery & innovation facilitator/coach & biopsychology Faculty at San Jose State University. Through private 1:1 coaching, keynotes, and workshops I provide science based solutions to professionals and teams experiencing change so they can build their better tomorrow by upskilling their today. My process, rooted in evidence based research drawn from neuroscience, psychology, and biology, is 3 steps: 1. Everyday fear mastery training 2. Upskilling problem solving & collaboration 3. Solution mapping a clear path forward At the core of my work is helping people gain clarity to see their best path forward, learn the tools to craft their new tomorrow, and be empowered with the strength to achieve it. I teach the frameworks you need to master the normal emotions of change and challenge while guiding you to new ways of thinking and doing. Let's find a better way forward, together. https://www.marypoffenroth.com/services Bio: It’s been over 20 years since I first began my science career at NASA, spending the last 14 years as STEM faculty. With innovation and engagement as my top priorities, I’ve been able to bring science out of the academy and into the hands of people across the world ready to use evidence based information to transform their lives through keynote talks and immersive workshops. I’ve done public talks on such stages as TEDx London, Inbound, Harvard, and SXSW and my work has been featured in legacy media outlets such as TIME magazine, Forbes, Science, Entrepreneur, and National Geographic. I have personally taught nearly 20,000 adults both in person and online since 2007 and am the author of Write Present Create: Science Communication for Undergraduates. Some of my proudest accomplishments include being a first generation college student that would go on to become a Salzburg Global Fellow, being able to graduate from Imperial College London to round out my three masters degrees (biology, psychology, science communications) and eventually speak on the same stage as my heroes Michelle Obama and Brene Brown. My academic research focuses on the intersection of emotional intelligence and innovation for personal/organizational growth that I've had the privilege to present as workshops for top organizations like The Walton Family and Britannica.
