Mathieu is CEO of GFBiochemicals, a leading sustainable biochemical company. He co-founded the business in 2010 with the ambition of ending chemical pollution by finding safer and more sustainable alternatives to the harmful petrochemicals commonly found in everyday products. Mathieu has always been interested in new technology and has played an active role in developing his businesses alongside his playing career at AC Milan, Arsenal FC and Crystal Palace. He became a Young Global Leader Class of 2018. It is an independent non-profit organisation, launched by World Economic Forum in 2004. Representing an impressive community of under 40’s from around the world, with the main objective of trying to have a positive impact and making this world a better place. At the World Bio Markets Awards in 2016 he was nominated as Bio-based Business Person of the Year. He is a member of the Paris 2024 Olympic Environmental Excellence Committee. Mathieu was part of the team who created BIOCIRCE, Europe’s first Masters’ degree dedicated to the bioeconomy, through GFBiochemical’s collaboration with several leading Italian universities.
