At my core, I am a people person and seek to serve and empower others. I'm a free spirit who has led a combat crew; I'm not binary. I'm a dynamic organizer and consensus-builder. Through a transition program aimed at getting more vets in tech, I learned to put my skills from the military to use in a position at a fast-paced digital identity company, focused on Public Sector sales. Most people wonder how a background in Naval Aviation would translate to sales; I've found that my military experiences have been absolutely crucial in my pivot to tech and a sales role. My past experience involved flying 91 combat missions and making split-second decisions in hazardous conditions; it also included teaching decision making, prioritization, problem solving, multitasking and communication skills to international students...while airborne and controlling live fighter aircraft in both exercise and combat situations. Those experiences have directly translated to being able to quickly and concisely explain technical solutions to clients, delve into more complex solutions and problem solving, multitask like a champ and quickly pickup technical understanding (and lingo!) to be able to maximize communication across teams. Daily, I find that I am still most engaged and energized by working with others to solve problems; I love the fact that I'm working with every single facet of the company to create an easy, secure, digital identity experience for citizen-facing websites across a variety of use cases. Its a constant challenge, and satisfying to solve problems. I love being part of an amazing team that is introducing products that make sense, reduce costs and have the potential to help every single individual in the digital environment.
