Bio

Merelda is a Co-Founder and CEO at Melio AI. She is an MLOps evangelist who is deeply frustrated by the slow project lifecycle (from proof-of-concept to production). Her mission is to make AI frictionless by following the best MLOps practices. This enables her to continuously deliver business value to her clients. She is motivated to understand how businesses operate, experiment with different methodologies, and create tools to shape the ways humans interact with each other. She enjoys leading multi-disciplinary teams to implement solutions that create transformative values for the business. She holds a BSc and MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand. Merelda also co-organizes the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's Johannesburg chapter and is an avid meet-up speaker. I moved to South Africa from Taiwan when I was 17, because of the tremendous language barrier I was forced to relearn everything I thought I knew. Since then, continuous learning has determined who I am and what I want to become. I believe that passion and collaboration are essential for innovation. Therefore, I enjoy leading multi-disciplinary teams to identify problems and implement solutions that create transformative values for the business. - Adaptive, bubbly, critical thinker, driven and enthusiastic.
