Michael has spent over 25 years in the advertising and media industry working across a collection of the most recognised products and brands in the world. Today he leads the Creative team at communications agency Think HQ. Working across all disciplines and teams, Michael's role is to elevate the work, create effective campaigns that live in all channels, and mentor key and emerging talent. A large component of Michael's role is to work closely with clients in the planning and creation of campaigns. Michael returned to Melbourne in January 2020 to lead Roller, News Corp Australia's Creative Agency. Here Michael worked closely with Marketers, Media Strategists and Content Producers leading a team of writers, art directors and designers. Michael's team was responsible for ideas, innovation and advertising campaigns promoting News Corp's platforms, products and publications. Prior to this Michael held the position of Chief Creative Officer, Grey Group China. Under Michael's leadership, the agency twice won Best in Show at the Region's most prestigious advertising award show, Kam Fam for Wellcome Supermarkets and Hong Kong Tourism Board. Both brands also collected Client of the Year awards, in addition to HSBC picking up multiple Marketing Bravery awards. Before moving to Hong Kong, Michael was Chief Creative Officer of Grey Group Australia overseeing highly effective behavioural change campaigns for TAC and media first marketing initiatives for Bulla Dairy and John West. Michael was a member of Grey’s Global Creative Board and WPP’s P&G Creative Council. Michael has won and judged at major award shows including D&AD, The One Show, Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia. Championing ideas and growing business, Michael’s passion lies in insight driven creativity, building sustainable brand + customer relationships and fostering ambitious, collaborative teams.
