Professor of Engineering and Acting Associate Dean for Research and Innovation at Teesside University in the UK. My research focuses principally on aspects of Applied Control Engineering and Systems Informatics for Industry 4.0 and Smart Energy applications. I have published over 180 peer-reviewed scientific and technical contributions in conferences and journals and secured/delivered several major funded research projects from UKRI, EC, ESG and others. I am Associate Editor for the journal of Energies and a regular reviewer for several major academic periodicals. I am an experienced academic- with a demonstrated history of working in both the higher education and process engineering industries, and have worked with most sectors of the media to engage on wider aspects of energy research and popular science.
