Financial services and fintech leader with over 25 years’ experience in P&L leadership, corporate development, strategy, and ventures. A longstanding history building large, strategic partnerships and businesses from scratch - including Citi’s direct bank and RBC Ventures. Most recently served as the Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer at RBC, Canada’s largest bank. Focused on creating new growth opportunities through acquisitions, strategic investments and partnerships. Joined RBC from Capital One in the U.S. where he served as EVP, Consumer Banking Segment. Assumed responsibility for RBC's Personal Financing business in 2010 and was later promoted to lead RBC Bank in the US. In 2015, led the acquisition and integration of City National Bank, RBC’s largest ever acquisition and has served as an advisor and board director since. Was appointed to Group Executive in 2015, with a mandate to reimagine the role the Bank plays in clients' lives. From this, founded RBC Ventures, and led the development of over 20 new businesses including Ownr, Ampli and MyDoh - creating a powerful engine for future growth and differentiation. Recently, led the charge to rally over 75 of Canada's leading companies and business associations to create Canada United - raising awareness and funding to support small businesses impacted by the pandemic. Is passionate about diversity and inclusion and is the founding co-Chair of the BPTN Champions Table supporting greater representation of black professionals in technology. Served as Chairman of RBC Innovation Council, Board Director of City National Bank, Chairman of the Board RBC Bank U.S. and a member of ALCO. Also a Board Director for Futurpreneur Canada and Right to Play Canada.
