Bio

I’ve always been driven by a passion for problem-solving, by the idea that if something is broken, with enough energy, resilience and collaboration, we can make it work again – and make it even better. This entrepreneurial spirit shaped my childhood plan to organize parties for my classmates, my undergrad house-painting venture and my apartment refurbishment business during my MBA studies. And it was here that I discovered real estate investing. Real estate is not just the world’s largest asset, it is also the world’s largest product category, and in my eyes one of the most important in society, because we all spend the majority of our lives in properties. In many ways, properties define how we interact as humans. It was the thinking that we could work on an issue and make it better that went into the founding of NREP in 2005. My co-founders and I were excited to build a company that wasn’t just investing in properties but creating better cities and a better framework for billions of people. NREP is based on a simple, yet powerful, belief: That real estate was ready for a change. Along the way we became the most successful company in our sector, ranked by return. Now, we employ over 600 individuals and we are passionate about building an even stronger company based on the values of continuous learning, care, trust and making a difference – together with them. When it comes to making a difference, no mission is more urgent right now than transitioning the real estate industry towards more sustainable practices and aiming for a greener urban future. This is at the heart of NREP’s purpose, as well as my own purpose. It’s the ultimate test of our ability to problem solve – and it’s good for our business and good for our world.
