I'm an award-winning sports writer who has built a reputation, a following and a brand on examining the game behind the game. As a sports reporter at the Toronto Star I covered everything from the CFL to MLB to the UFC, writing daily stories but specializing in longer features that explore the intersection of sports and social issues. As a baseball beat writer I penned several pieces exploring the unique isolation of Cuban major leaguers, and I've also authored narrative series on amateur boxing and high school basketball. These days I'm busy carving out a sports-biz niche in the Star's business department. Instead of following the scores, I'm following the money.
