Morgan relies on her background in Human Resources, the hospitality industry, and employment litigation to offer clients practical solutions to employment challenges. In her practice, she counsels and defends federal contractors and subcontractors throughout the U.S. on jurisdictional, compliance, and enforcement issues involving the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). Morgan works with in-house counsel and human resources professionals, offering pragmatic advice on Affirmative Action Programs and legally mandated government reporting obligations, and provides guidance and training on pay equity, equal employment opportunity, and diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. Morgan has represented employers in a range of labor and employment law matters, defending against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations, in federal and state courts in Alabama and Florida, and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor. Her experience includes defending against claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Equal Pay Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act, along with state law claims of retaliatory discharge, restrictive covenants, employment agreements, and other state laws. During law school, Morgan interned at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she served on the Alabama Law Review, the National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Team, and the John C. Campbell Moot Court Board. Morgan graduated magna cum laude from the Harrah Hotel College at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, ranked one of the world’s best colleges for Hospitality & Leisure Management. Morgan serves on the Executive Board of the Women Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, and is a member of the Military Spouse JD Network and the Tennessee Valley Industry Liaison Group. Morgan grew up in Dothan, Alabama but lived in Okinawa, Japan; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Tuscaloosa, Alabama before making Birmingham her home. Morgan loves to travel, watch University of Alabama football, and spend time with her husband, Joe, her basset-hound rescue, Harley, and her shelter cat, Beans.
