Bio

While I am flattered, please **do not** message me asking for advice or guidance for your company. Thank you :) Since 2005, starting with SXSW Interactive, I have been engaging with the tech community in some capacity. In 2015, my path towards a focus on open source and cloud native communities began with my role at DigitalOcean. There, I was responsible for building and managing relationships with users and partners, through events, swag, and open source initiatives, like Hacktoberfest. In 2018, I expanded my involvement with open source and cloud native technology even further with my role at The Linux Foundation, focused primarily on The Cloud Native Computing Foundation's main conference, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon. Within this role, I managed timelines and deadlines for CFP and schedule launches, schedule building, and compiled data through excel formulas for diversity data points, ensuring a balance of company, gender, and expertise is met for each event. I worked with maintainers of CNCF projects, conference speakers, program committee members, track chairs, and co-chairs on deliverables and deadlines to create successful events. After each event, I gathered feedback from the community, speakers, and program committee members to improve processes and ideas for the next event. In January 2021, I began my next chapter within open source and cloud native communities with my new role as the Senior Open Source Community Manager at VMware, focused on the Carvel tool suite and Pinniped open source projects. I get my energy through engagement with communities and seeing the impact a company can make through understanding, interaction, and bringing people together.
