I’ve enjoyed the fun and laughter of communicating with developer communities about open source software for a long time through Developer Relations. There are two different skill sets to master in DevRel: being able to inform and interact with your community and to help your organization improve products and messages by listening to the feedback from the community. I’ve spoken at many, many events, sometimes for audiences of hundreds and even at one event for an audience of one. Communication to me means creating useful proof of concepts, answering questions on forums and social media but also presenting interesting examples at events and through video tutorials.
