I have extensive experience in both academic medicine and basic and translational research. My expertise is in immunology (PhD) and hematology/oncology (board certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist). Distinct strengths include: comprehensive understanding of basic science of immune activation and regulation, 15 years of patient care as attending physician in pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Harvard Medical School and University of Utah, translation of concepts into well-designed clinical programs, leadership of academic research lab (up to 17 lab members) and cross-functional team in industry. I supervised ARIAD’s randomized phase III study of ponatinib versus imatinib in newly diagnosed patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia and designed and conducted first-in-man trials of Acetylon’s HDAC6-selective inhibitor ACY-241 in hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. Currently working on CAR T trials in hematologic malignancies at JUNO/Celgene, including adult and pediatric trials in DLBCL and B-ALL.
