I have over 35 years of experience of working in the Energy Industry. Qualified as a fuel expert, I became the first female Power Station Manager for RWE npower in the UK. Other leadership roles for RWE included Head of UK Energy Prompt Trading team, Director of Technology Services at RWE npower. In 2008 became RWE Group’s Director of Performance Improvement, based in Germany. My final role at RWE was to be an executive member of the Board of Essent N.V., RWE Group’s Netherlands/Belgium energy business. As the Chief Technology Officer I was responsible for the successful commercial and sustainable delivery of Essent’s Generation fleet, new energy developments and procurement. Whilst at Essent, I joined Supervisory Board of DNV KEMA, Energy & Sustainability (now DNV GL Energy). My time with RWE came to an end in December 2012. After a short break travelling & pursuing other activities such as becoming visiting Professor at London Metropolitan Business School, creating my own Company, Elysian Ark, with my husband, I joined the Renewable Energy Association (REA) in July 2013 as its Chief Executive Officer. Early in 2014, I was invited to join the Board of WISE Campaign as Non-executive Director. In 2015, I became a Fellow of the Energy Institute and, more recently, awarded the Honour of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2016 New Year's Honours List for contribution to Renewables and Equality in Energy Specialties: Energy, Renewable Energy and Sustainability, Change leadership and management, operational excellence, HSE, Engineering and business risk management,
