Someone once asked me if I knew my purpose. I didn’t have an answer so the person suggested I try writing it down. Without thinking, “level the playing field” wrote itself. So I decided that this is what I would spend my time trying to do, whether it’s helping everyday Americans save & invest for a brighter future, giving small shareholders more of a voice, or bringing music education and art to kids in need. It’s been both clarifying and fulfilling to pursue unambiguous purpose in work. I am not big on doling out advice but I think it’s a worthy endeavor to write down what you would like your purpose to be.
