Pete Sessions is a conservative national leader who has combined hard work, innovative thinking, free-market solutions and common-sense values into a Republican primary win in the 17th District of Texas. Today, he has successfully won the November general election and is now the Congressman-Elect and will be sworn back in to Congress in January of 2021. Pete began his tenure in the United States House of Representatives in 1996 representing the 5th Congressional District of Texas. In 2012, the people of the 32nd Congressional District called on him to serve a ninth term. Additionally, he was elected by his Republican colleagues in Congress to Chair the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) in 2008 and 2010. He also served as the Chairman for the powerful House Committee on Rules, which operates as the gatekeeper for legislation. Pete is a steadfast defender of U.S. national security interests and a national leader in promoting pro-growth, tax relief policies for working Americans and businesses to save, invest, and hire more workers. As the parent of a young man with Down syndrome, he is a passionate advocate for people with disabilities and leads efforts to provide them with services and opportunities that will help them realize their potential. Pete is also a recipient of the National Distinguished Eagle Scout Award and is a member of both the National Eagle Scout Association’s national committee and the Executive Board of the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
