Phil Wilkins, is an accomplished 20 year business leader/entrepreneur, who excels at driving business growth, increasing profitability, and leading business turnarounds. His ability to connect with local community leaders, foster a culture of excellence, a commitment to remove barriers to success, and attract, develop, and engage leadership talent has been the key to his success. Phil’s commitment to Social Determinants of Health started at home, where he saw numerous family members struggle with poor health leading to diabetes and amputations, which led to insecurities in transportation, housing, finances and food, and ultimately needing supportive personal care to meet the demands of every day life. As a business owner, many customers and family members of employees struggled with the same issues, only to see inequities amplified during the pandemic. It was the culmination of these life and business experiences which attracted Phil to lead the SDoH team at Modivcare. A former D1 Athlete, and father to three athletic sons, Phil frequently speaks with young athletes and professionals, about making the successful transition from the Locker room to the Boardroom. He has been a trusted advisor to a University President, Athletic Directors, and Coaches, on diversity related issues, their faculty and staff, and athletes face on campuses today. Mr. Wilkins has served on the Board of Directors of 5/3 Bank (Central Kentucky), YMCA, National Black McDonald’s Operators Association, and the International Franchising Association’s Diversity Institute. Phil is a graduate of Miami of Ohio, and has successfully completed Cornell University’s Diversity Management Program. Currently, Phil resides in the Atlanta Metro Area.
