Philip is the Chief Security Officer for Coinbase Global Inc. He leads a team of 250+ across APAC, the Americas and EMEA, covering Cybersecurity; Trust & Safety; Physical Security, Technology Governance, Risk and Compliance and Business Resilience across Coinbase's portfolio of consumer and enterprise businesses. He is additionally deeply involved in Privacy and Insurance. Philip serves on the board of multiple Coinbase subsidiaries as well as the Cyber Risk Institute and advises and invests in early stage startups in the cybersecurity industry. He remains hands on with 4 patents granted or pending and, when time allows, maintains a few open source projects at https://github.com/Phillipmartin. Prior to Coinbase, Philip built and led the Incident Response and Security Engineering teams at Palantir Technologies, developed new virtual infrastructure at Amazon A9 and spent a decade as a US Army counterintelligence agent and Arabic linguist.
