Philip is the Group CEO of Baobab Group. Baobab is a financial inclusion group with operations in nine African countries and in Sichuan Province in China. It is also a leader in pay-as-you-go solar power for households in urban and rural areas in francophone West-Africa and in Madagascar. Prior to that, he was Group Director of SME Banking at Equity Group Holdings, Kenya, one of the leading banking groups in digital banking, fintech and SME banking on the African continent. Philip has previously worked in top level management positions for the ProCredit Group, a banking group which focuses on serving SME's in emerging markets and aims to combine a high development impact with commercial success. He started his career with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Russia. He holds a bachelor and a master's degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
