Starting as ASIC designer at Italtel in 1988, I moved to the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) domain in 1990 when I joined Mentor Graphics as an Application Engineer. Later on I joined Synospsy as Technical Manager managing a multinational team (IT-FR-UK). Working for those big EDA vendors I grew my technical and management expertise in different domains: Analog and Digital Simulation, Hardware description languages (VHDL-VHDL/AMS) Synthesis, Static Timing Analysis, Formal verification, Test, Signal Integrity, Parasitic Extraction and Reliability Analysis, managing people and dealing with customers. Since Nov. 2005 I run my own service company (www.leading-edge.it), partnering with another engineer: we together bring over 60 years of combined experience in EDA industry. I personally have more than 27 years of experience working with Multinational EDA Companies, a managerial experience with local and remote team, a good knowledge of the customer at designer and Top Management levels, a strong problem solving and a good attitude to interface with R&D/Marketing to drive products evolution to meet customers’ needs, good teaching capabilities. In my new role I developed sales skills growing EDA business in Europe for our partners acting as primary interface for EU prospect/customers at sales and technical level. Specialties: competitive analysis, pre-post sales technical skills, analog simulation, signal and power integrity on PCBs, sales skills, managerial capabilities, training, forward looking attitude, team player. Leading Edge is currently training partner for Mentor Graphics (now a Siemens Business) and FPGA-Intel and is an IPC Training Center for all IPC certifications. I personally teach following classes for Mentor: Schematic capture, PCB library development, PCB design, analog/digital simulation, Signal/Power Integrity simulation, VHDL-AMS language Personal Trainer Certifications : IPC-CID/CID+, IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC 7711/21
