My professional and healthcare leadership journey is spanned over 25 years. I have achieved many key milestones improving patients/population health outcomes, strengthened health systems governance, created innovative models of care delivery, supported data & digital entrepreneurial ventures and enhanced organisations' performances on this journey. I have successfully developed transformational national policies, used health data innovatively to excel clinical quality and efficiency for achieving value-based healthcare in the UK and internationally. Currently, I am honored to become National Healthcare Advisor to the H E Minister of Public Health (Qatar), providing evidence-based decision and critical thinking on national healthcare policies, programs and governance of health system in Qatar. I firmly believe that leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. This notion motivated me to gain extensive medical, public health, executive management & policy experience in the UK and USA. It took me to Harvard Kennedy School, Yale School of Public Health, Manchester Business School, Institute of Directors (UK) and Institute of Healthcare Improvement (USA) – and acquire higher qualifications in medicine, public health, management, economics, paediatrics and health informatics. I have leveraged all that knowledge, experience and networks to create value for organisations and advised Ministers and Governments in achieving their strategic goals. Some of the organisations I have served and made an impact include; Public Health Scotland, Department of Health (England), Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Turkish Ministry of Health, Digital Health & Care Institute, Healthily, Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, NHS Institute for Innovation & Improvement and Scottish Development International - and academic professorship at several universities. With my sound understanding of international health systems, I act as catalyst to build mutually beneficial collaborations between healthcare organisations, industry and academia. I am honored to be consulted by many governments and companies, served on national/international forums, advisory councils and think tanks globally.
