Hi there! I'm Rebecca, and I’m a UX content designer for digital products. I’m passionate about plain language, human-centered design, and creating content that works for every kind of brain. I've led and been part of product design, UX, and marketing teams in regulated industries like FinTech and healthcare. I’ve also worked on fun stuff like writing video scripts, naming product lines, and helping small businesses reinvent their brand voice. Career highlights: I have twice been the first content strategist on staff at an organization. I have thrice produced comprehensive content guides (editorial and UX style guides) from scratch. I was a speaker at #confab2022, where I shared 10 artifacts content teams can use to improve their workflow. In my free time: When I’m not writing for UI, I write other stuff. My brother and I wrote a memoir together. It’s called Where War Ends: A Combat Veteran's 2700-Mile Journey to Heal (New World Library, 2019). It won a Foreword award for best memoir in the silver category. I also write fiction, personal essays, and humor pieces, which have appeared (or are forthcoming) in Slackjaw, Wintermute Lit, Points in Case, Frazzled, the Military Times, Mamamia Magazine, and Defenestration.
