I am a regular contributing author for MixingLight.com's website, training colorists worldwide. My initial area of concentration is color corrections/controls of video media using Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm currently most ''known'' as an Adobe Community Professional (ACP) specializing in video post with Premiere Pro, and working with some AfterEffects and Audition workflows also. Especially dealing with color and the Lumetri color correction and ''grading'' capabilities of Premiere Pro, along with the Motion Graphics Templates (mogrts) within Premiere Pro and between Premiere Pro and AfterEffects. My college was in training to be a teacher, and over the years I've taught my professional peers in stills/portrait photography and now in video post. I've also taught online via blog and video tutorials for amatuer and professional users. I've been a studio/environmental and wedding photographer for over 35 years, recipient of the PPA Master of Photography and Craftsman degrees and Certified Professional Photographer with many awards over the years both regional and national/international in professional photography. I have taught numerous programs to professional photographer associations from lighting through employee relations to professional print competition preparations. I began my video post-processing work specializing in Adobe SpeedGrade but with the end of that program, transferred my primary focus to Premiere Pro (NLE) and its Lumetri workspace. I dabble in Resolve's color workflows but claim no expertise there. I love to punch the buttons, to test and see what happens ... and then work to understand what's going on underneath the makes the changes I see. Besides being an owner/partner of Haugen's Galleri Portrait Studio with my wife Miriam, who has the same stills/portrait credentials, I hav 'own' brand of rNeil Photographer. As my current work is more video post and graphics, I'm launching a new site in the near future headlining that part of my work.
