Bio

A veteran of the industry for over 21 years. I have shipped over 30 titles including classics such as numerous Tony Hawk Pro Skater games on the GameBoy Advance, the Triple A franchises of Guitar Hero, Skylanders and Destiny 2, and recently the remaster of the genre defining action RPG, Diablo II: Resurrected. My role is frequently that of game director or design lead, and I strive to champion a vision that the team can rally behind, while still meeting the goals and expectations of the stakeholders of the game, including our players, developers, and the business overall. For the last few years, I was the studio design director of Vicarious Visions and with that came the responsibility of maintaining and growing studio’s design team, and ensuing that people have a clear vision of their career’s future within the group, and seeing to it that that are given the support and opportunities they need to be fulfilled in their work, and as effective as they can. Now that we are a Blizzard studio, I am bringing that spirit to new teams, and meeting great new people every day. I also have a passion for puzzles and ARGs and was pleased with my puzzle work in Warmind an expansion of Destiny 2, as well as the dedicated puzzles in the follow-up expansion, Black Armory. Lastly I have a special place in my heart for all of the Skylanders and great times had creating characters and toys for such a great set of kids. I use communication across disciples, teams, and even other studios to make my games as good as they can be. Be them within the office, across the country, In-person, or virtually. Many times, this means bringing people of different groups (and time-zones!) together to work or just talk about a problem. With my degree in animation, I have a strong sense of movement and specialize in player handling and controls. Sometimes these controls are a single input touch screen, a tv remote, a keyboard, or the now standard controller layout. I recently had the privilege of speaking for the third time at 2022's GDC about our teams work on Diablo 2: Resurrected. I had been a speaker at the Game Developers Conference twice before, and still find the more I speak, the more I learn, the more I want to know. I have also spoken numerous times at internal Activison/Blizzard/King Summits. Outside of video games, I was the designer on Charmed and Dangerous, a Co-op card game that reached nearly 800% of our goal on Kickstarter! A new pencil and paper RPG next. My hobbies include obstacle course racing, ultra races, blacksmithing, boardgames, ARGs, escape rooms, and tabletop.
