I have been actively involved in energy markets since the early 1990s and have a good understanding of the supply markets. This knowledge is applied on behalf of industry participants from supply and demand sides as well as others. Since joining Cornwall Insight (previously Cornwall Energy) in 2004 I have been involved in: - contributing to the well respected Energy spectrum, a weekly bulletin on supply and policy issues; - the development of a survey of supply market shares now subscribed to by a majority of gas and electricity suppliers in the British market; - advising distributed generators, major users and suppliers on embedded benefits and offtake contracts; - developing relationships with leading supply market participants leading to specific project work considering wider commercial issues; - a well known presenter on energy supply markets; - undertaking various reviews of energy supply markets for Energywatch and Consumer Focus, with strategy recommendations that have been adopted in the organisation’s subsequent workplans; - working with major consumers to review and develop purchasing strategies during a period of very significant market change. Prior to joining Cornwall Insight I was a director of the Energy Information Centre and worked there from 1992 to 2003.
