Roberto Rivas Hermann has 10+ years professional and academic experience in socio-economical aspects linked to environmental protection. Early research considered governance and political ecology of water resources in Nicaragua and Panama. During his Ph.D. research, Roberto merged his previous experience on governance aspects of the environment, with those of the industrial innovation dynamics in societies of the global North -with the case of the greening shipping industry. In his postodoctoral research, Roberto analyzed the relation between discourse and agency. How actors' decisions are influenced by the surrounding discourse and how these decisions translated into entrepreneurial praxis lead to certain outcomes -with special emphasis on circular economy. In April 2019, joined the Center for High North Logistics (Bodø, Norway) to carry out research and teaching in the areas of logistics and environmental planning linked to Arctic maritime infrastructure.
