I am very excited and proud that the Accelerated Cybersecurity Training Program at the Catalyst is adding 700 new cybersecurity professionals to the Canadian cybersecurity workforce by 2023, with 70% of those new cyber professionals being women. My vision is that the way to solve the cybersecurity skills shortage is to reskill the non-technical mid-career individuals who have diverse career backgrounds, demonstrates high natural aptitude and interest in cyber, but have no formal cyber background. It is our responsibility (Academia, Private Sector, and Public Sector) to make cybersecurity training pathways accessible for all individuals who are eager to pivot towards a career in cybersecurity.
