Bio

Over the last 20 years I have been fortunate to create and manage multiple IT systems and software deployments across companies large and small. I have worked at every level of the software and IT stack, from hands-on creation to the management of a software team as it transitioned a legacy desktop product to a cutting-edge web application serving thousands of clients. Using and understanding data effectively to distill actionable information is a passion and focus in everything I do. My love for technology began with my first exposure to our family TRS-80 (I hacked an ending to ''Lost Dutchman's Gold'' on a bootleg cassette tape copy) and was solidified my senior year of high school through an advanced program with the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center. Since then, I've worked in at least 12 languages, managed Windows, Linux and Mac environments , and built a successful SaaS solution for thousands of clients. I've taught technology in various venues over the last 18 years, from a small private K-12 school, large staff training courses at Penn State University, and technology conferences such as PASS Summit in Seattle. I have a passion for understanding technology and discovering simple solutions to new problems. PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Power BI, SSIS, SSAS, Web development, mobile , Docker, DevOps, monitoring ... you name it. I'm at the top of my game when I'm learning something new or teaching others about the technology I love.
