As an idealist and pragmatist, I apply lessons from my 25 years in change and innovation around the world – having worked at the coal face of many transformation programs in the public and private sector. From transforming supply chains in high tech, to establishing global shared services capabilities; and from organisation design in human services, to delivering leadership development programs in the construction and retail sectors. For me, emerging technology + engaging design + commercial viability + social responsibility divided by the strength of a company’s ability to innovate equals success in innovation. This is one of my major lessons-learned having most recently established and led Accenture’s global R&D and Innovation capability, The Dock, for 5 years. Now, as Head of Accenture Innovation in Europe, I have the privilege of leading a wonderfully diverse team of technologists, creatives and business people to do no less than invent the future in Europe. Across our portfolio, we are exploring the possibilities of data and the metaverse in the media and entertainment industry, the future of sustainable mobility and the digital Euro. We explore new and novel ways to grow by servicing an aging population, GenZ and SMBs particularly where industries converge. I frequently join advisory groups and present at academic, government and business events. I have had the opportunity to work with government and academia on topics including future of work, innovation, gender equality, and the role of arts and humanities in business. My current research focus is on how to make “unconventional collaborations” or “multi-lateral innovation” work as we address multi-stakeholder challenges such as energy transitions, resilient supply chains or circular economies.
